Vibe Naming: the timeline of Microsoft Sales Agent
Microsoft's Sales Agent has carried at least seven distinct names since launching as "Viva Sales" in June 2022. Most of that churn is invisible in the published docs, but it's all sitting in plain sight in the commit history of a single GitHub file: articles/introduction.md in MicrosoftDocs/microsoft-salescopilot-docs. Combined with the public rebrand announcements, it reconstructs a naming saga most customers never see.
The docs repo is still called microsoft-salescopilot-docs — a naming fossil from 2023 that survived every rename below.

The timeline
The Oct 2025 and Feb–Mar 2026 windows each show the same pattern: a rename lands, gets walked back a few days later, then gets re-applied a few days after that. That's internal naming indecision playing out in public, in near-real time, inside a docs repo.
